Falk Laboratory School
The Fanny Edel Falk Laboratory School is a K-8 campus laboratory school affiliated with the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. Since 1931, Falk has provided a learning environment grounded in community, diversity, experiential education, individualized instruction and a low teacher-student ratio.
Falk offers an outstanding, individualized coeducational learning environment. Students of varying ages and social, ethnic, religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds learn to study, work, and play together in an atmosphere that maximizes the development of individual potential within a creative, diverse, and mutually respectful learning community.
Teachers at Falk provide personalized attention that encourages students to discover and develop strengths that will become lifelong assets. The faculty includes full-time specialists in art, music, physical education, foreign language, technology, as well as yoga and library science. The school has an extensive library and student research facility, and access is provided to the University of Pittsburgh’s Hillman Library and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
